Plans & usage
How plans, features and usage meters fit together — and where to see what you're using.
Coalface has a free plan and paid plans. This page explains how plans, features and usage relate, without repeating the numbers — for current prices, see the pricing page.
What a plan gives you
Your plan sets two things:
- Which features you can turn on. Most extensions are available on every plan, but a few are plan-gated. Marketing & planning and Site Health need the Pro plan; AI and public boards are available from Free up. Each feature’s page shows what it needs.
- Your allowances. Things like the number of members, boards, storage and AI credits scale with your plan.
Usage meters
In Settings → Billing you’ll find usage meters showing where you stand against your plan’s allowances — members, boards, storage, and AI. They’re there so nothing creeps up on you; you can see when you’re getting close and decide whether to upgrade.
The same meters appear on the AI settings page for your AI credit.
Changing plan
Upgrade or manage your subscription from Settings → Billing. If you ever move to a lower plan, we don’t delete anything or switch features off underneath you — your existing data and settings stay put. You just can’t turn a gated feature back on until you’re on a plan that includes it.
Redemption codes
If you have a code — a free-plan grant, a lifetime deal or similar — you can redeem it in Settings → Billing. A redeemed grant applies to your account directly, without going through checkout.
The short version: your plan decides which gated features you can enable and how much you can use. Watch your usage in Settings → Billing, upgrade there when you need to, and redeem any code you have in the same place.
