Public boards

Public boards let you share a board with the outside world as a read-only page — a public roadmap, a “what we’re working on” list — that anyone can view without logging in, and give a thumbs-up to.

Turn it on

Public boards are off by default. Switch it on in Settings → General → Extensions, available from the Free plan up. You then publish a board from its own settings.

Publishing a board

In a board’s settings, publish it to get a secret link. Anyone with the link sees the board; nobody can find it by guessing, and you can rotate the link at any time to revoke the old one.

You choose which columns are public, so you can show Planned and In progress while keeping an internal Backlog column private.

What visitors can and can’t do

Visitors can view the published columns and thumbs-up tasks — that vote is the only thing an anonymous visitor can do. There are no public comments, so there’s nothing to moderate or spam.

Visitors never see assignee identities, attachments, the Vault, activity history, or anything from your unpublished columns.

Built so nothing leaks by accident

Public boards are designed around one promise: a private thing can’t accidentally become public. Two rules enforce it:

• A public board can’t be encrypted, and an encrypted group can’t hold a public board — the two are mutually exclusive.
• A public board lives alone in its own group, so publishing it can never expose a private sibling board.

The board’s header and columns show a clear, unmistakable “public” marker while it’s published, so you always know what’s visible.

• The public page is a completely separate, isolated view — it shares only the look of the app, none of its inner workings.

The short version: turn it on, publish a board from its settings to get a secret, revocable link, and pick which columns show. Visitors can view and thumbs-up — nothing else — and private content can’t leak by design.
